Edison Energia is one of the fastest growing Polish photovoltaic businesses. It offers photovoltaic, heat and energy optimisation solutions. In less than two years, the company erected more than 20 000 photovoltaic installations with a total capacity of 120 MWp for residential and business customers.
Each month, Edison Energia team of nearly 1 500 employees and associates carry out more than 1 000 installations, ranking the company fifth in Europe. Currently, the company is also expanding its sales of heat pumps and plans to introduce energy storage.
The challenge
The company is growing very fast, constantly adding new products to its offer, which is also means growing workforce and the number of employees to be trained. The biggest challenge is precisely the process of onboarding and preparing new team members for their duties.
“At the beginning of our operation, newly hired salespeople would visit company offices to take part in classroom training on different topics for several days. We had a great deal of information to convey in a short period of time. Training would start at 8:30 a.m. and sometimes end even around 7 p.m. Despite high intensity of the training, courses were lecture-based due to lack of time for workshops and work on practical skills. On top of that, at the end, everyone had to take a conventional, written knowledge test.
The whole process failed to give us satisfactory results. We could notice that employees were even “overloaded with knowledge.” That’s why we sought a new format for our onboarding training and it became quite a challenge to transfer so much knowledge quickly and efficiently.”

In addition, the company also faced the challenge of quick and efficient communication of product changes and verifying knowledge on new products on an ongoing basis, given an ever-increasing number of salespeople. Knowledge tests, which were organised in written form, had to be replaced as soon as possible with a new, more efficient solution.

“We acquired the system primarily with the idea of using it to train salespeople. However due its versatility, it proved its usefulness in other departments of the company as well. Currently, all employees take the mandatory GDPR training on the Dolineo platform. We use great material for this, which is available as subscription. Importantly also, all our departments – Execution, Customer Service, Sales Support, Audit, as well as Sales use Dolineo to share information with their teams, including procedures or information on products by sharing different types of materials. Periodic tests are also implemented in each department to verify the current knowledge of employees.
