Sun-Farm is a pharmaceutical company focused mainly on a portfolio of prescription drugs, available in the hospital and open market, as well as OTC products. It has been operating on the Polish market for 20 years and is part of Dermapharm AG – a company of an international reach. Activities in Poland include: own pharmaceutical wholesale, manufacture of drugs, dietary supplements and medical devices. In addition, it also provides services in the following areas: technology and formulation development, tableting and encapsulation, as well as finished product packaging and labelling.
Sun-Farm manufactures and distributes more than 70 medicinal products and 6 dietary supplements and medical devices. Most of the products offered, both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) products, have unique features and advantages providing significant and unique benefits to patients.
Sun-Farm actively cooperates with physicians and pharmacists and continues to strengthen its position on the market. The company currently employs nearly 100 people in Poland.

The challenge
The coronavirus pandemic has made training processes in many organisations more complicated. Sun-Farm also had to face the challenge related to maintaining continuity of training courses. Medical and pharmaceutical representatives constitute a significant group of the company’s employees. They work in distributed teams, for whom up-to-date product knowledge is essential for effective work. Company-wide as well as region-specific training courses had so far been conducted using the face-to-face method. In view of the situation, there was a need to find a solution to replace the current approach.

The solution
The situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic meant that the company had to act quickly. Sun-Farm’s needs were very precise. The company was looking for a space to upload and share documents and company materials in a form of various types of files. The company established available solutions via a market research. One of the systems under consideration was the Dolineo’s e-learning platform.

As part of the platform, Sun-Farm employees also have access to a database of more than 200 ready-made training courses. The database is enriched by Dolineo every month with new topics, about which employees are informed on an ongoing basis.
In addition to the capability to create an internal knowledge base and share company materials quickly, Sun-Farm also uses a survey module. The module allows to collect anonymous information from employees, e.g., information regarding the company or opinions about managers. Replacing the previous paper-based solution with a digital one has greatly improved the process of collecting feedback from employees. It also increased the level of confidence in the employee surveys themselves. Creating questionnaires using the system’s built-in survey wizard takes even less time thanks to a suite of ready-made templates available as a part of subscription. Surveys implemented through the system guarantee anonymity and data security.

Outcome
The implementation of the Dolineo platform has streamlined training processes and solved many problems related to effective knowledge management in the company. Company materials and product training have been properly grouped and organised in one place, i.e., on a platform that can be accessed from any device and at any time. As a result, employees scattered all over the country have quick and easy access to up-to-date and uniform company and product information.
